Forecast

In this section I will discuss my chosen topics and how it could be presented in the next two to five years and also discuss if it will be popular in the future market.
Firstly I will discuss 'Fairy Tales' and certain features which could be changing and what could be popular in the market in the near future.

A popular area of interest within 'Fairy Tales' is the dark older oriented versions of the original tales told for many years, looking at research on recent releases like "Catherine Hardwicke's Red Riding hood" Masters, T. (2011)and "Beastly" Imdb.com Inc. (2008) it shows that the films have aimed at teenagers or a higher age rating than the usual "Fairy Tale" Story book intentions of aiming at children and also with the new releases of feature length films in 2012 like "Snow White and the Huntsman Directed by Rupert Sanders" Grey. (2011) and "Jack The Giant Killer Directed by Bryan Singer" Aceshowbiz. (2011) this shows that there is a market for more older audience and darker themes including violence and action. So with this research in mind, I believe that the target audience will grow and that "Fairy Tales" will become much darker and Adult viewing within the next two to five years. As well as the success of "Guillermo del Toro's 'Pan's Labyrinth"Imdb.com Inc,. (2006) and his future release of "Pinnocchio" Bowie-Sell, D. (2011) it shows that there is a market for darker, cruel  versions of the tales and that this theme is becoming much more popular in the media, "Alice: Madness returnsIGN. (2011) is another example of darker themes being liked in the market and how it has become a popular feature and will continue to develop through many different tales in the near future, maybe the horror genre will develop into the stories, giving off the original Grimm feeling towards the tales.
Another popular feature within 'Fairy Tales' which I have researched in previous sections is 'Magic', Magic has continued to be very popular through many media, in the past years magic based around spells and wizards has been kept alive, a lot of it was with the "Harry PotterEntertainment Desk. (2011)  franchise. Magic will continue to be a very popular feature within "Fairy Tales", although the illusionist magic shows like "Penn and Teller's" act Glenn, A. (2011) and "HoudiniMagic Tricks, Inc. (2011) has continued to be popular for many years with live show acts and were combined together with the film "Fairy Tale: A true story (1997) directed by Charles Shurridgeimdb, inc. (1997) it seems that the idea of magic seen in original tales is much more popular and will continue to be a popular in the market in the near future. Similar to my other point magic also seems to be following a dark path leading into a much more violent area with Magic battles and dark witch curses that is shown as an example in the new Snow white Film SnowWhiteHuntsman (2011) releases.

As we are on the topic of magic there is also another popular feature which is the hero of the story, in my previous research I came across the idea of 'Super Heroes' combining magic with the hero of the tale. The growth of Super heroes has become very popular even though past research shows that the super hero genre has been popular for a very long time but with constant releases in the media of new hero ideas and future releases of upcoming films in 2012 like "The Avengersimdb, inc. (2011) this a great time for super hero themes. As magic and Super heroes continue to be very popular in today's market and in the next year, It seems as if in the next few years these themes will definitely not be dying out but only growing.
As heroes have been a popular topic I had also noticed through my research that main characters within 'Fairy Tales' are involving strong, powerful women like "Disney Pixar's Brave"Outlaw, K. (2011), "Tangled"The Walt Disney Company Limited. (2010) and "Alice: Madness Returns"IGN. (2011) etc, each one involves the main female character being fierce and fighting, like with the Tangled Film, she beats up the thief with her hair and in Brave she is a princess who travels the land shooting arrows at beasts etc. Females have become stronger characters instead of the stereotypical damsel in distress and I believe this will continue to flow through different media in the near future as a popular feature.

From my research I believe that Witches will have more of an impact on media in the near future, with the 90s being a very popular time for witches with the examples of "The witcheswood, D. (2002) and "Hocus PocusImdb.com Inc,. (1993), Witches were once very popular within the market, however within recent dates there hasn't been that much media on witches that has stood out in the market but with the upcoming films "Snow white and the huntsmanSnowWhiteHuntsman . (2011) an evil queen who can cast spells like an evil witch and "Hansel and Gretel: Witch HuntersGoldberg , M. (2011)  shows that Witches are coming back, as well with the recent film "Red Riding HoodMasters, T. (2011) she is accused as being a Witch, another reference to the witch theme. Witches will continue to be evil and be the villain that audiences have come to love.
Although Dark themes and older target audiences seem to be very popular in 'Fairy Tales' spread across a variety of media, colourful themes in children's books and other family loved media seems to be continuing to be selling in the market and I believe this will be another beloved topic in the near future, however with the success of the "ShrekSaravia, J. (2002) franchise and the future release of "Fairy Tale TwistsWaterstones. (2011) I believe that the theme of changing the original characters to a much more modern view and a twist on the characters we once knew will become a much more pleasing feature throughout a spread of different media. With the New film "Snow white and the huntsmanSnowWhiteHuntsman . (2011). and "Mirror Mirrorimdb, inc. (2011) it is shown in the trailers that Snow white fights with the dwarfs which is a completely different twist on what audiences would expect of the main character but with all the modern changes and different themes, the style continues to be like the original illustrations made for "Brothers Grimm tales book"Dover Publications Inc. Grimm, J. Grimm, W. (2010) and "Andersen's Fairy TalesDover Publications, Inc. (2008). and the stories seem to still based around the original time they were set.

Overall I believe that 'Fairy Tales' will continue to be very popular and loved in the market in the near future, I can ascertain that original stories will be adapting and changing to a different way of how audiences once saw the original tale, the market will continue to favour the colourful versions thanks to the "Disney" The Walt Disney Company Limited. (2010) brand but the market is expanding to attract older audiences with its dark themes and violent aspects.

Now I will discuss about research found in my "Monster" sections and what will be popular and sell in the future market.

Firstly I can see that 'Mythological Monsters' will have a big part in the market in the near future, with the release of future release of "Wrath of the titans" flicksandbits. (2011) it shows that this topic is popular in the media today, these features will also be in "Percy Jackson and the Olympians; the sea of monsters" imdb, inc. (2011) which is to be released in 2013. I believe that either the mythological monsters will continue to be the typical monsters that we have seen spread in a variety of different media or even be a large influence of monsters that appear in the market, these types of monsters have been around for many years, like the monsters featured in the film "Jason and the Argonauts (1963)" Shannon, J. (2006) but seems to be growing in popularity in recent years.
Within these examples there are relationships between monsters and gods, I believe that with these topics being worldwide, in the near future of two to five years Gods and hell-like monsters will continue to have a lot more media coverage.
As well as the mythological becoming very popular in the future market, the classic monsters seen in the films
"The blob" Calabria, N. (2010)  and "Them" getfilm. (2010) were once a hit in the 90s but had changed target audiences to children age rating, showing that children are able to accept them at a much younger styled theme, with the announcement of the remake of the show "The Munsters" Rose, L (2011). which will be a comedy, it shows that the classic monsters are once again heading to a more comical state than there original theme of being horror. This is also shown this the future releases of "Monster University"The Movie Insider. (2011)  and "ParaNorman" gfxwarrior. (2011) the typical scary strange looking monsters are very popular in a much more colourful theme and will continue to do so in the next two to five years.
This evidence is shown throughout my research in many sections, a lot of franchises are very popular that include the feature of "Cute" Monsters, with the success of "The Muppets" Freeman, H. (2011). franchise and the new film release in america recently, it shows that the strange looking creatures yet colourful and happy theme is very popular and is continuing to be very popular and another example is "Moshi Monsters"Prigg, M. (2011) which has only appeared recently but have grown massively because of the colourful aspects and cute creatures which is loved by children.
Through my research I have also noticed that monsters within people are very popular in the horror genre, like "HalloweenWilliams, O. (2011). and "Nightmare on Elm streetStevennix2001. (2011) which are continuing to release media in the next year, like feature length films to be released in cinemas in 3D but looking at reviews it seems like remakes of the original horror villains are not as appreciated as the first versions of the killers but the market continues to release new versions of the classics that the public has come to love, the horror film killers are also moving over to the game industry, this is shown with the announcement of the "ChuckyYOGEV. (2011).  Game, this shows that people are still interested in the evil killers but it seems to show that people enjoy playing the evil character and doing the evil deeds than just watching the victim, as well with the "Prototype" imdb, inc. (2011) games were the players take control of the monsters destroying land and people. With my research it shows that the market for audiences to be more involved with the killer and the killer to be the main feature will grow and spread much more in the media.

Overall I can see that "Monsters" will continue to be a popular topic in the near future, in people and as typical monsters
